It is reported that in order to further strengthen the rectification of non-motor vehicle traffic violations, especially to strengthen the control of operational express delivery and take-away electric bicycle riding chaos, the Traffic Police Corps of Shanghai Public Security Bureau began to use RFID wireless radio frequency technology to carry out the "electronic police" law enforcement of electric bicycle traffic violations on July 1, 2019. From July 20th, 2023, Shanghai Traffic Police WeChat WeChat official account "Focus 4 Shanghai Traffic Police Micro-posting" began to regularly publish traffic accidents and traffic violations of express delivery enterprises in Shanghai in a period of 7 to 14 days, and made a ranking list to urge 26 express delivery enterprises in the city to implement the main responsibility of traffic safety.

Looking through the data released in the past 10 months, the reporter found that in the list of traffic violations, Meituan "dominated the list", followed by hungry, and the number of violations by the two companies was far ahead. In 14 days, the number of traffic violations was usually around 10,000, while the number of violations by Flash, Shunfeng City and Box Horse, which followed, was usually in three digits.

The reporter learned from the Shanghai traffic police department that the traffic violations of take-away couriers mainly involve running red lights, retrograde, etc. In addition to punishing and educating illegal personnel, the traffic police department will also regularly interview the riders’ enterprises to fulfill their traffic safety management obligations.

In response to the above-mentioned illegal "list", the reporter contacted the top two express delivery companies. As of press time, no response has been received.
